I married the Demolition Man.
Adam came in for a visit, shortly before the Big Remodel. He has finally decided what he plans to do about his education. He's going to complete his degree in Computer Science, and then he's going for a master's in Post Secondary Education. He's hoping to be a college professor. Somewhere in all that schooling, he's hoping to marry Anna, who's studying to be a Federal Marshal.
A cop and a professor? Their poor children!
My daughter Faith went away to ROTC "Boot" Camp this morning. She'll be gone for a week or so. That's all I've heard from her for weeks. They're going to do zip lines, rappelling, shooting M16's, white water rafting, swimming, the lot. I am excited for her, but at the same time, I'm worried they'll break my baby. When I drove her up to the rendezvous, I told her teacher, "I'm worried about that white water rafting business. I don't want you to lose my baby."
His response: "Oh, don't worry, I fall out of the boat two or three times every year."
NOT all that comforting!
Writing has been going well. Since I made the decision that my writing was NEVER going to be a source of income for me, that writing for money was sucking all the pleasure out of the process for me, my work habits have become very different.
I have three or four "continuing sagas" going on. One is horror, one is SF, one is, well, just weird, and I have a couple of less clearly defined ones. Each morning, I wake up and say, "Which world do I want to visit today?" And whichever one it is, that's the one I write on.
It probably sounds silly, but it makes my mornings an adventure.
